One of the co-founders of GHOSTBUSTERS NL, Dr Degens built his first proton pack in 2009—quite an achievement for a guy being all fingers and thumbs. He knew that troubled times were ahead, though. And lo and behold, banks collapsed, entire countries nearly went bankrupt, Brexit happened, Trump became US President, Belgium beat the Netherlands in association football as well as hockey; surely all this hardship could not have been caused by humans alone. There had to be more to this insanity.

In 2016, GHOSTBUSTERS NL was made operational, certified by both head offices in New York and Culver City. Ever since then, Degens has been closely involved in all GBNL activities. In addition to his daily ghostbusting tasks, Degens is also company liaison to the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (including Environment) and acts as GBNL's in-house documentation administrator.

Dr Degens can be easily identified by his GBNL baseball cap and the way he wears the leg ends of his jumpsuit over his Corcoran boots 'Venkman-style'. When he and Dr Westwood are out and about a-bustin', anything can happen. Pair of oddballs, these two!
